Castaways Creek meanders across the southern end, warm and shallow enough to wade across at low tide, dividing the beach into two distinct halves.

Morning here means the sand holds only your footprints and maybe a jogger's from an hour earlier. The shore break arrives in neat, glassy sets when the swell cooperates; when it doesn't, the shallows stay calm enough for a float with a book balanced on your chest. Pandanus palms lean over the dunes at the northern edge, their roots gnarled and exposed, marking the high-tide line with driftwood and cuttlefish bone.
By midday the sun has baked the upper beach into a furnace, but the salt air stays cool if you stay close to the water. Afternoon brings a handful of families, locals who know to bring shade and sandwiches because there's nothing here—no kiosk, no surf club, no gelato cart. Just banksia shadows lengthening across ribbed sand and the tide pulling back to reveal a mirror of wet flats that catch the sky.
