The sand is fine and pale, the bottom slopes so gradually that you can wade fifty meters before the water reaches your waist, and the lagoon's influence warms the shallows to temperatures higher than the open Adriatic. Behind the beach, reed beds and salt marsh host egrets, herons, and migratory waterfowl, the protected wetland creating a green buffer between sand and Trogir's urban edge. Aircraft approach Split Airport directly overhead, their landing gear down and engines throttling back as they descend over the channel. The noise punctuates your swimming at intervals, a reminder of the beach's proximity to infrastructure. Between plane passages, you hear wind rustling reeds, children's voices in the shallows, and the slap of small waves against the shore. The water stays calm most days, protected from serious swell, though afternoon winds can churn the surface into choppy confusion. Families dominate the beach—the sandy bottom and extreme shallows make this one of Central Dalmatia's most child-friendly swimming zones. You'll find a modest beach bar, rental umbrellas, and little else. Trogir's UNESCO-listed old town sits two kilometers up the coast, its medieval streets and Venetian architecture offering cultural contrast to Pantan's natural simplicity. The beach works best as what it is: an easy, functional swimming spot with an ecological edge, not a destination unto itself.

The best time to visit Pantan Beach is from June through September when weather is warmest and sunniest, with water temperatures reaching 23-26°C. July and August offer peak beach conditions but also bring crowds. May and early October provide pleasant weather with fewer visitors, though water may be cooler. The beach is accessible year-round, but swimming outside summer months is only for those comfortable with cooler temperatures. Mornings tend to be quieter, while afternoons see more families and locals.
Pantan Beach is located about 4km west of Trogir's old town, easily reachable by car in 10 minutes via the coastal road. Free parking is available nearby. From Split, drive approximately 30km (30-40 minutes) following signs toward Trogir and the airport. Local buses connecting Trogir and the airport area stop within walking distance. You can also cycle along the coastal path from Trogir center in about 20 minutes. Taxis and ride-sharing services are available from both Trogir and Split Airport, which is very close by.
Pantan Beach has limited on-site facilities, but you'll find cafes and restaurants within walking distance along the coastal road. For more dining variety, Trogir's old town offers numerous restaurants, konobas, and cafes serving fresh seafood and traditional Dalmatian cuisine. Accommodation is primarily in Trogir itself, ranging from apartments and guesthouses to hotels. Some families rent private accommodations in the residential area near the beach. Grocery stores and bakeries are available in Trogir for picnic supplies. Beach bars may operate during summer season.
