The beach lacks marble promenades and thatched beach bars. Instead, you get a gravel parking area, a simple wooden changing hut, and a summer kiosk dispensing ice cream and pølser. Families spread blankets in the dune hollows, using the natural topography as shelter from the persistent coastal wind. Visit on a weekday morning in June or late August and you may share the entire strand with a dog walker and a handful of retirees doing their daily constitutional. The sea stays swimmable from late May through September, though Danes hardy enough to brave 17°C water appear earlier.
