The stones here range from marble-sized to fist-sized, their tumbled surfaces making that particular grinding sound as waves retreat.

The water visibility startles first-time swimmers accustomed to mainland Mediterranean beaches; you can count pebbles on the bottom three meters down. Schools of small fish dart through the shallows, and by mid-morning, children with snorkel masks track them along the shoreline. A handful of seasonal restaurants set tables directly on the beach's upper edge, close enough that servers deliver plates barefoot across the pebbles.
This is the most developed beach village on eastern Cap Corse, which means actual services—showers, a grocery that stocks more than bread and beer, rental umbrellas if you forget shade. The Torre di Sisco, a sixteenth-century Genoese watchtower, hunches on the southern point, its stones gone orange with lichen. Locals swim here year-round, appearing at seven in the morning even in November, their shouts echoing off the valley walls as they hit the cold water.
