This is Tortolì's front door to the Mediterranean, stretching from the Foxi Manna lagoon north past stabilimenti and free beach zones. The sand runs honey-colored and firm near the water, fine enough to please bare feet but substantial enough to anchor umbrellas against the afternoon breeze that reliably arrives around two o'clock. Red porphyry mountains rise inland, their ridges framing every beach photo.

Wade in and the water reveals its clarity—you'll spot silvery fish swirling around your legs, see your toes magnified through the lens of each wavelet. The seafloor extends shallow and sandy for remarkable distances; children can play safely while parents lounge within earshot. By mid-summer the water temperature climbs past comfortable into genuinely warm.
Lido di Orrì makes no claim to wilderness—beach clubs offer umbrellas, showers, and waiter service; parking lots line the access roads; pizzerias and bars cluster near the main entrances. But the infrastructure serves rather than overwhelms, leaving most of the five-kilometer stretch open for those who prefer their own umbrella and a cooler packed from Tortolì's morning market. The combination of accessibility and space explains why Ogliastra families have returned here for generations.
