The sea is typically clear and inviting. As it's a popular tourist destination, there are usually lifeguards present during peak season. Families should still supervise children, but it's a very accessible and pleasant swimming environment.
The best time to visit Ölüdeniz Beach for ideal weather and to avoid the peak summer crowds is during the shoulder seasons: late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October). Temperatures are comfortably warm for swimming and sunbathing, and the resort is lively but not overwhelmingly busy. July and August are very hot and crowded.
Ölüdeniz Beach is very well-connected. From Fethiye, the most common and convenient way is to take a local dolmuş (minibus), which runs frequently throughout the day. The journey is scenic and takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Taxis are also readily available. Many hotels in the region also offer shuttle services directly to Ölüdeniz.
