Kumburnu Beach, located within the Blue Lagoon, is exceptionally safe for swimming, making it ideal for young children and less confident swimmers. The lagoon's protected nature means the water is incredibly calm, shallow near the shore, and free from strong currents or large waves. The water is also remarkably clear, allowing for good visibility. Lifeguards are typically present during peak season.
The best time to visit Kumburnu Beach for the most pleasant experience is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October). The weather is warm and sunny, perfect for swimming and sunbathing, but the intense heat and largest crowds of the peak summer months (July-August) are avoided. This allows for a more relaxed enjoyment of the lagoon's beauty.
Kumburnu Beach is very easily accessible from Ölüdeniz town. It's located at the very end of the main Ölüdeniz beach stretch, within the protected Blue Lagoon National Park. For lodging, there are no hotels directly on Kumburnu Beach as it's part of a protected national park. However, Ölüdeniz town, just a short walk away, offers a vast array of hotels, guesthouses, and apartments.
